nature

For this experimental piece, I was concentrating on getting the light involved, seeing which part captures the light and the darkness. I think this has worked well as it's very eyecatching and a lot of movement is taking place.

I have created this piece by exploring mix media, for example oil, acrylic and glue. By combining these layers it creates depth and movement. I wanted to portray movement of nature, exploring the different colours that are being created by mixing these materials together.

I'e noticed that I'm very controlled with my work, everthing has to be percised. So this piece was the starting point of letting go and getting out of my comfort zone. Using only oil paint still shows layers and depth.

Looking at mix media creating, trying to create depth and shadows. Worked well.

Journey and space

I created this piece for my last assessment. I was mainly thinking about creating different layers and tones. I wanted to portray a journey that I travel, showing the country side moving into the urban life... lighter colours travelling to more of a darker, dull aproach.

Both of these paintings were an experimental pieces. The start of the process/ideas. I was looking at layering and also displaying the circles so they create depth. These paintings were design to make the viewers look more closely at the style and get a sense that they can walk through the paintings.. like a tunnel.
